Plan Description
This program is for those who have either completed their first 5k or are ready for a little more work than casually running a couple of days a week. If you are needing to start running check out the program, Couch to 5k!
This program is going to take you from that 5k distance and have you ready to race that 10k with confidence and a smile.
Very Simple plan to be economically friendly and give you the sessions needed to have a great race!
Each week will consist of:
Two zone 2 runs slowly increasing distance so you are ready for race day.
One speed session to build stride power, speed, and help increase anaerobic capacity.
One optional run that is 2-3miles at zone 1. These runs are low intensity yet still great aerobic base and building overall mileage.
Week 8 is Race Week! This will lead you right into race day.
Remember that you can move days around if needed to accommodate your life's schedule.
