Is This Plan For You?

This 4-week Intermediate Base Marathon plan by GA Endurance is a short, structured re-entry phase for runners who are already training but need to realign, stabilize, and prepare for a more demanding marathon training block.

It is ideal for athletes who have maintained some level of consistency but want a controlled transition into structured training with a focus on rhythm, efficiency, and readiness.

If you are looking for a simple, efficient, and disciplined way to reset your training structure and prepare your body for higher loads, this plan provides a clear starting point.


What You Can Expect

• A complete 4-week structured Base re-entry progression for Marathon Intermediate athletes

• Very short and controlled base phase focused on system activation

• Strong emphasis on aerobic rhythm, consistency, and movement quality

• Short progressive long runs to reintroduce endurance load

• Predominantly easy and steady-state running with minimal intensity

• Light neuromuscular activation and brief tempo exposure

• Controlled overall volume to support adaptation without excessive fatigue

• Focus on pacing, discipline, and efficient movement patterns

• Clear, easy-to-follow workouts using pace, heart rate, or perceived effort

• Optional strength guidance to support durability and injury prevention

Requirements

To start this plan, you should be able to:

• Run continuously for at least 8–12 km

• Train consistently 3–4 times per week

• Have recent running experience and basic aerobic fitness

• Be ready to follow a short, structured re-entry phase

A GPS watch and heart rate monitor are recommended for best results.
