This FREE 4 Week Menopause Marathon Plan is suited to the first time marathoner and if you have been through menopause. However, it is recommended that you are not new to running if you are doing a marathon. You should be able to run comfortably for over an hour to start with and also have done at least one half marathon before attempting the marathon.
The plan is designed to get you started with first 4 weeks of a 16 week programme for free. Use code "WMFREE" to claim. You also get BONUS weekly training emails straight to your inbox. Make to tick the box to allow me to contact you at checkout otherwise you won't receive these.
This plan is for someone who already runs at least three times per week. This plan will start with you regularly running up to 4 times per week. The focus of this plan is on building strength and power so the amount of running is capped at 4 runs per week and has two strength sessions and one sprint interval session.
The runs are set out so that you don't run two hard days in a row and there is an easier week every four weeks or so. The final two weeks are your taper before your event.
The key for running your first marathon is building up a consistent running frequency so do not get side tracked with fancy sounding run workouts or what more experienced marathoners are doing. There will be plenty of time for that once you know how your body responds to a marathon event!
In this plan you'll also find weekly training tips, including menopause tips, which may link to further training resources. These are there to help you and provide you with further information to help answer any questions you have along the way.
