Boundless Coaching’s 16-Week Marathon Training Plan is designed for intermediate runners preparing for a road or flat trail marathon who want to arrive at the start line confident, well-trained, and ready to execute. This plan emphasizes aerobic durability, marathon-specific pacing, and smart progression to help you run strong from the first mile to the final kick.
Built using a science-backed approach, the plan leverages Heart Rate training (% of Threshold), Training Stress Score (TSS), and Chronic Training Load (CTL) to guide progression while minimizing the risk of burnout or injury. You’ll develop marathon-ready fitness through structured tempo and threshold workouts, marathon-pace sessions, and progressively longer runs that build both physical and mental endurance. Fueling strategy, pacing discipline, and race-day execution are integrated throughout the plan so nothing is left to chance.
