WOMEN BOSTON QUALIFICATION
Age 40-44: Time 3hrs :40Min
Duration:16 Weeks.
Time Goal: 3hrs 45Min to 3hrs 35Min
Distance per week: 32Mi – 43Mi.
The training program described is specifically designed for individuals who:
- Want to qualify for the Boston Marathon in the age group of 40-44.
- Are looking to improve their running performance and potentially achieve a faster race time.
- Are willing to incorporate speed work into their training regimen.
- Are able to start the training with an 11-mile long run.
- Should be able to run a total of 32 miles in the first week of training.
- Have a training plan that includes long runs, Fartleks, tempo runs, track speed workouts, and recovery days.
- The long run distance per week ranges from 43 miles in total to a longest run of 22 miles.
- Are committed to running 5 days a week.
- Have prior experience with marathon running, having completed at least 3 marathons.
- Are within the age range of 40-44 and can run a marathon in a time that qualifies them for the Boston Marathon in their age group (no more than 25 minutes slower than the qualifying time).
- The training plan is tailored based on the individual's qualification time for the Boston Marathon in the age group of 40-44.
This program is designed for experienced runners within the specified age group who are dedicated to achieving their goal of qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon.
A competitive runner himself, Wilson Komen brings nearly a decade of experience to his coaching. He sees it as his mission to help all of his runners—new and experienced alike—maintain healthy, consistent training regimens that will lead to rewarding racing experiences.
