This plan will improve your running technique while working on your marathon distance fitness. Designed for intermediate to advanced level runners, this plan balances mileage with running drills focused on running technique, transforming you into a better distance runner.
IS THIS PLAN FOR YOU?
This plan is designed for intermediate to advanced level runners who already have experience in long distance running. You have completed 10K and half marathon events and you’re either ready to complete first full marathon or to improve your marathon time.
WHAT’S IN THE PLAN?
- Structured running workouts. All workouts are made with TrainingPeaks workout builder. It’s easy to understand the structure of each running session. You can even upload a workout to your GPS device and follow the session in real time.
- Weekly running drills. You’ll begin with activation drills in the initial weeks of the plan and progress to more challenging drills in later weeks.
- Running technique tips. For every running session.
- Nutrition tips around your key training sessions, explaining how to recover faster, hydrate and fuel during sessions.
- One-to-two high-intensity sessions per week. These sessions will challenge your cardiovascular fitness, improve your running economy and serve as mental preparation to deal with higher intensity running come race day.
