STRYD Power meter or similar, using Coros, Garmin Polar etc
This 18 week plan is developed for athletes running with power who are training for a Marathon and are use to and prefer based on miles per week rather than time basis, similar to more traditions heart rate or pace based running plans.
This plan is based solely on power and distance. It is intended for the more experienced runner that is looking to run 50 to 90 kms in the peak period per week, Plan to start on a Monday with the long run is on a Sunday. Running 4 days a week to start with a rest day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, then 5 days as the plan progresses.
The power intensity targets for workouts are based on the runner's FTP or CP. Once calculated stay within the power ranges especially on the high intensity workouts as this will reduce the possibility of the introduction latent excess fatigue.
On weeks 6 and 12 there are Critical Power and Tests to check and automatically adjust your Critical Power.
