This 20-week Half Marathon Base plan by GA Endurance is designed for runners who want to build a strong and structured aerobic foundation before moving into race-specific training.

It is ideal for intermediate athletes who can comfortably run 8–12 km and are ready to improve endurance, pacing precision, and durability through a consistent, data-driven system.

This plan focuses on long-term development—establishing the aerobic capacity and steady-state strength required for sustainable half marathon performance.


What You Can Expect

• A complete 20-week Base progression designed for intermediate runners

• Gradual and controlled increase in volume with precise intensity management

• Strong emphasis on aerobic capacity, steady-state strength, and fatigue resistance

• Structured long runs and steady sessions to improve pacing stability

Requirements

To start this plan, you should be able to:

• Run continuously for at least 8–12 km

• Train consistently 4–5 times per week

• Have prior structured training experience

• Commit to a progressive 20-week base development phase

A GPS watch or heart rate monitor is strongly recommended for best results.
