This 14-week 5K Intermediate plan by GA Endurance is designed for consistent recreational runners who want a focused, structured path toward a stronger 5K performance.
It is best suited to athletes who can run 5–8 km continuously at a controlled effort and can train consistently 4–5 days per week. Each session includes a defined purpose and practical intensity guidance.
What You Can Expect
- A focused progression that develops aerobic capacity, running economy, threshold control, and 5K-specific speed endurance
- Easy running, pickups, hills, controlled quality sessions, and longer aerobic work placed according to the plan phase
- Clear intensity guidance using heart rate, pace, and perceived effort so each session serves its intended purpose
- Purposeful recovery spacing and a controlled taper that reduce fatigue while retaining race-day sharpness

Requirements
- Ability to run 5–8 km continuously at a controlled effort
- Availability to train 4–5 days per week
- Willingness to keep Easy sessions controlled and complete quality sessions with sound pacing
- A GPS running watch and heart-rate monitor are recommended for more precise execution
