RunStrong is a 12-week training plan for everyday runners working toward a faster 5K or 10K — people training around full-time work, family, and the rest of life rather than a pro schedule.
It's built around one session a day, 5-6 days a week. Each week has track intervals focused on developing VO₂max, a controlled threshold run, easy and long runs for aerobic base, and runner-specific strength work to support running economy and reduce injury risk. It doesn't require two-a-days or high-mileage weeks.
The plan is periodized in three-week build blocks followed by a recovery week, repeated three times, so training load increases gradually and is absorbed before each progression. The interval sessions move from shorter, foundational reps early on toward longer reps that build more time near VO₂max in the final weeks.
It was designed by an exercise physiologist, and every workout includes a short note on its purpose and target effort, so you know what each session is for and how hard to run it.
