Plan Description

Endurance Lab Beginner 5K Plan (8 Weeks)
The Endurance Lab Beginner 5K Plan is the perfect entry point for new runners
or anyone returning to training who wants to complete a 5K feeling confident, strong, and injury-free.
This 8-week plan uses the Endurance Lab 7-Zone Pace Model and is delivered entirely
through TrainingPeaks Structured Workouts so you always know exactly what to do.
Who This Plan Is For
- First-time 5K runners
- Runners rebuilding fitness after time off
- Athletes who prefer clear, step-by-step instructions
- Anyone aiming to finish a 5K comfortably (not racing for time)
Every workout includes:
- Structured pacing using % Threshold Pace (TP)
- Warm-up, Main Set, Cool-down blocks
- Technique cues + beginner-friendly drills
- Weekly focus notes explaining the “why” behind the training
What You Need
- Comfortable running shoes
- A GPS watch or smartphone app to track pace
- Optional: heart rate monitor (not required)
