Plan Description
This tried and tested GTN plan has been designed by the Global Triathlon Network team to help you gain a 5km personal best time. For inspiration, please check out our recent video in which Phil follows this exact plan in an attempt to better his own PB.
Over the course of 8-weeks, the plan will prepare you for the distance as well as the required pace.
The first 4-weeks of this plan is based around 4 runs per week, whilst the second 4-week block builds up to 5 runs per week. Half-way through, we recommend completing a 5km Practice Run, for training purposes and to track your progress.
If you’re using a Heart Rate, great. All this data can be great to log, and analyse within Training Peaks. However, none of this is essential. This plan will be work off Rating of Perceived Exertion, and Pace.
