Break the 50-minute barrier on 10K!
This 8-week, coach-designed 10K training plan is built for runners who are ready to take their 10K performance to the next level and chase a sub-50-minute finish.
The plan is specifically designed to culminate in a 10K race at the end of Week 8. The final weeks are structured as a focused race preparation and taper, with a gradual reduction in training volume while maintaining key elements of intensity. This helps you arrive at the start line feeling fresh, confident, and ready to perform at your best.
The plan combines easy aerobic running, threshold and tempo work, progressive intervals, goal-pace training, and longer endurance runs to develop the fitness needed to sustain a 5:00/km pace on race day.
Training progresses gradually over eight weeks, with carefully structured sessions designed to develop both speed and endurance without turning every run into a race. You will improve your ability to run at and around goal pace, build the endurance needed to maintain your pace under fatigue, and develop the confidence to stay controlled when the race gets tough.

… No race planned at the end of Week 8?
-> For the best training effect, we recommend repeating Weeks 5 and 6 rather than completing Weeks 7 and 8. Weeks 7 and 8 are specifically designed as a race-specific taper, so they are most effective when they lead directly into your 10K race.
