12-Week Intermediate Swim Plan

Welcome to the Swimace 12-Week Intermediate Swim Plan!
This program is designed specifically for athletes who want to develop their swimming with structured progression, measurable gains, and expert guidance.

Over the next 12 weeks, you’ll move through three key training blocks — each made up of three weeks of progressive building followed by one lighter recovery week. This structure allows you to maximize performance gains while maintaining quality and preventing burnout.

Throughout the plan, you'll complete a series of benchmark tests to track your improvement:
- Week 3: Critical Swim Speed (CSS) Test
- Weeks 5, 7, 9: 100m Time Trials
- Weeks 6 and 10: 400m Time Trials

These regular test points help you measure progress, adjust your training speeds, and stay motivated as you work toward your peak performance.

What You’ll Need

To get the most out of this plan, please ensure you have access to the following swim tools:

- Flippers (short fins preferred)
- Hand Paddles
- Pull Buoy
- Kick Board
- Snorkel (front-mounted snorkel recommended)
- Cadence Measuring Device (such as FORM Smart Goggles or a Finis Tempo Trainer)

These tools are integrated into the training sessions to improve technique, build specific strength, refine body positioning, and help you master pacing and stroke rate.
