Program Description
This 8-week program is designed for beginner or intermediate triathletes who are getting ready for a short distance triathlon event (up to Olympic or Standard Distance). This program will require approximately 3-5 hours per week and can easily be integrated with any other bike/run programs from the B78 Endurance Hub library or elsewhere. There will be 3-4 swim workouts per week of approximately 30-80min each. We wish you the best of luck with your training.
Pre-Requisites
Athletes taking part in this program should consider doing the 3-week maintenance/off season program to start. Other suitable programs that lead into this one include the 8-week general preparation program for beginners.
Programs to follow this one
There are several great beginner programs you can use to continue on from this one. Consider the programs that will combine swim, bike and run in one program (triathlon programs) or programs for long distance events. If you have moved through the beginner series and have gained more experience you can move on to the advanced swim programs to challenge yourself a little more.
Other things you should know
Equipment such as fins, pull buoys, and snorkels etc. can be used when doing drills to enable sole focus on the drill. Equipment should only be used in the main sets when stated.The indicated duration of the swim sessions is an approximation only. Please use the set distances as your goal. These swimming workouts have been designed for a 25m pool. Rest intervals are designated by the "@" symbol. For example if the set indicates 4*50m @10s this means you do 50m and then rest for 10 seconds and then do another 50m.
