Plan Description
LEVEL 3 - HYBRID
All run sessions in this plan are built in TrainingPeaks workout builder for use with a heart rate monitor as this will give the purchaser the greatest longevity when purchasing this plan. However it is totally anticipated that people may start without any technology and so notes and a chart for using Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) has been supplied where appropriate. All strength sessions are built in the NEW TrainingPeaks strength suit and can be used in the gym using a mobile device to record weights and how the session went. There are videos of all the movements supplied in every strength training session. All my plans come with the option to contact me with any questions you may have or advice you may need. A Training Plan for anyone who wishes to develop the habit of training for both Strength and Endurance whilst establishing a solid foundation for their fitness journey. This plan is LEVEL 3 in an 8 level journey that can transform you from HYBRID novice to Competitive Badass in the space of two years.
Before starting this plan you will be in good health and will have discussed any issues or concerns you have regarding health and fitness with your healthcare professional before proceeding.
This plan has a specific focus on developing the complete package as an athlete with equal dedication to the pillars of function, strength and endurance.
This is the LIFT and RUN version of this plan - There are two alternative versions of this plan for those who prefer to get their cardio from either cycling or a mix of cycling and running. The majority of weeks include two days when we stretch or lift weights, two short days with an aerobic focus, a longer aerobic day and two days of “rest” where the recommendation is that you avoid becoming sedentary and aim to complete at least 10,000 steps through walking.
Designed by Level 2 TrainingPeaks coach, beta tester, coach mentor and coach assessor Rob Lee This plan draws on both his experience as a coach (since 1995) and his own racing accomplishments (144 race victories including 24 hour mountain bike titles at World Championships 2005 and National Championships 2022) Rob has successfully coached hundreds of athletes one-to-one, and supplied plans to thousands more, so they can achieve their goals in road cycling, ultra cycling, mountain biking, triathlon, marathon, ultra marathon, virtual racing, motorsport, exploration, obstacle racing and Hyrox style competition. As a husband, a father of 3 and a business owner Rob knows first hand the delicate balance to be struck between training and life. This plan will not rule your life but it might make you the ruler of your own world!
