Plan Description

Preseason Fitness is a strength & conditioning program designed to boost safety, performance, and durability for ski area personnel. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the mountain, this program is flexible and scalable to meet a variety of fitness levels. By following the plan, you’ll build strength, power, and endurance while reducing the risk of injury. This isn’t just a workout plan—it’s a tool to help you meet the physical demands of your job and stay safe through the season.

All you need to start training is a set of dumbbells (20-30 for most males/10-20 for most females), a step or box (12-18" high), a pull up bar or TRX straps/gym rings, and a short step or box (4-8" high). If you don't have dumbbells, you can substitute any free weights, resistance bands, or even a weighted backpack.

The program progresses steadily over 8 weeks, followed by a recovery week and a maintenance week so you have a clear path to get fit and stay strong once you’re back on snow. Each workout includes linked video demos to help you nail proper form. Approach your training with consistency and focus, and you’ll enter the season fully prepared.
