Plan Description
This plan is made specifically for those who have climbing Denali on their mind or booked already. This plan is tailored to prep your body for the chronic training load required by one of the worlds most difficult seven summits. Over 12 weeks of time your body will be prepped to sustain the vertical gain required in climbing Denali as well as building strength in your uphill propulsion muscles.
We do not recommend joining this program if you do not have a high level of physical fitness already or have not completed a structured training program in the past.
Week 12 should be completed by the week before you land on the Glacier. If you have more than 12 weeks and HAVE NOT done a structured training in the past, then that is great, repeat weeks 1-3 until week 12 lands on your departure week. If you feel great by week 8, then you could repeat week 9-11 one time through to extend the program by 3 weeks but be wary this will tax the body significantly. When in doubt LESS IS MORE!
This program is also a great prep to build yourself for any mountain adventure and would do well as a structured training program for anyone looking to take their alpine fitness to the next level.
