INTRODUCTION
The Horsepower Coaching Performance Breathwork Program is uses structured, periodised breathwork protocols to improve your tolerance, performance and recovery so you can excel in training and competition.
This plan covers the Race Preparation phase which is implemented 6 weeks before your season A race to maximise your performance on race day.
KEY FOCUS
You will use advanced active breathwork practices that simulate high altitude exposure to improve your VO2 max safely and naturally by triggering additional production of the naturally occurring hormone erythropoietin (EPO).
EPO stimulates production and maturation of red blood cells in the bone marrow which increases your body's capacity to carry oxygen to working muscles.
Research has proven this type of breathwork can increase your VO2 max by up to 8%.
This phase is only deployed in the lead in to an event.
