Plan Description

With the unfortunate circumstances of South Africa about to go into lockdown COVID-19 is forcing many triathletes to be self isolating or confined indoors and wondering how to maintain fitness in this forced off season.

This is a 6 week plan to give some focus for mental and well being during these difficult times

As all swimming pools and no outdoor activities, dryland swim specific workouts should help maintain some fitness with regard to swimming are included.

This time will give you plenty of opportunity to work on strength and core and included is yoga sessions which may be substituted with body weigh strength exercises or Pilates and time to focus on mental health and well-being.

Equipment you will need
SWIM - a training resistance band/chord for the dryland swimming workouts (Watch the Youtube link located in the workout descriptions).
BIKE - A smart trainer for the cycling workouts
RUN - a treadmill, or run in your yard/garden or complex. If not possible look at alternatives such as skipping, stairs running or the HIIT Challenges located at the start of the plan.

Hopefully we will all come through the COVID-19 safely and then can get back to focusing on training and racing. Should you then need to refocus on you new A race.
