Plan Description
This duathlon training plan is great for intermediate-level duathletes or anyone aiming to increase their cycling and run fitness. It's based on threshold heart rate (THR) and the plan is repeatable. If you repeat the plan, be sure to do a lactate threshold test for your bike and run and update your training zones so you don't undertrain in the second round.
Note: This plan is suitable for intermediate levels due to the number of interval workouts at the high-intensity output. Beginners should check out my Run, Bike and Core Strength Simple Plan, which provides training without too much load.
Each week the intensity increases for the run, bike and strength workouts so the athlete can build upon their fitness. Even though there is a large variety of structured training sessions in this plan, I am to keep them simple enough to follow and understand. Each week has a set of goals and each session has a training objective to meet.
The full-length core strength video workouts are from my YouTube channel. You are guided through the entire workout, including the warm up and stretch after. They will help you to build core strength in a progressive manner. Feel free to explore other strength and mobility workouts on my channel for runners and cyclists and add them in your training plan if you have room for it.
