Lay the foundation for a strong season ahead. This 12-week High Volume Base Plan builds deep aerobic endurance, strength, and resilience through structured power-based workouts. Designed for competitive cyclists training 10–12 hours per week, it’s perfect for those preparing for XCO, XCM, road, criterium, or stage racing. Compatible with TrainingPeaks, Garmin, and Zwift.

Detailed Plan Description

This 12-week plan is designed for committed and competitive cyclists who who has come off a break from riding and is wanting to prepare for the season ahead and wants to develop a solid aerobic base before entering higher-intensity training. It’s ideal preparation for disciplines such as XCO, XCM, road, criterium, or stage racing.

The plan combines structured endurance rides with progressive strength training to improve durability, stability, and efficiency on the bike. All sessions are power-based and fully compatible with TrainingPeaks, Garmin, and indoor platforms like Zwift, Rouvy, or TrainerRoad.

Training averages around 11–12 hours per week (≈10 hrs cycling + 1.5 hrs strength), striking the right balance between progression and recovery.
