Plan Description
If you are a cyclist who wants to maximize their lactate threshold, but ALSO wants to make sure what you are doing is maximizing your metabolic health (very much tied to your lactate levels), this plan is for you! This plan is for those wanting to go beyond just good athletics, but are wanting to maximize their health and lifespan.
This plan requires a power meter and is recommended that you have a laboratory-based lactate threshold test (though not required).
This is 3 cycling sets per week and 2 strength sets per week.
You can expect to improve on:
- Lactate threshold
- Lactate generation and tolerance
- Fasting glucose and insulin
- Triglyceride levels
You may see improvements in many other markers, such as cholesterol, hemoglobin A1c, and hs-CRP (high-sensitivity c-reactive protein), all of which can improve heart health (and decrease your risk of disease).
