Plan Description

This 16-week advanced training plan is tailored for highly competitive mountain bikers and road cyclists targeting top finishes in local races. It employs a traditional 4-phase periodization strategy, focusing on strength development (General Preparation) on the bike, building aerobic endurance (Base Preparation), enhancing threshold capacity (Transition Phase), and refining peak power (Peak Phase) to ensure you reach your best performance. The toughest week, typically around week 7, includes up to 21 hours of training, while the average weekly commitment is about 14 hours. If the time demands prove too high, we suggest trying the intermediate plan, which maintains a similar structure but features slightly shorter training weeks.
