Plan Description

Norway is currently dominating the top levels of endurance sports. Names like Jakob Ingebrigtsen (Track), Gustav Iden and Kristian Blummenfeld (Triathlon) are known far beyond their sports. One factor of their success is their high volume of threshold training. Having existed under the public’s perception for a long time, a great paper was published by Bakken et al. (2023), which highlights the training methods used: high volume and twice weekly double threshold days.

This training plan takes the training methods described by Bakken and converts them into a challenging but do-able training concept.

Ambitious athletes will find a new training stimulus and a rewarding challenge. This plan is also suitable for your next training camp.
