Plan Description

The plan is designed to help an athlete increase their VO2 Max (Zone 5) power, abilities, and repeatability. VO2Max is that effort you put out when closing a gap, jumping on a passing wheel, or attacking to open up a gap to form a breakaway. The more power you have to do this, along with doing it over and over with less fatigue than the other riders, the better your chances of improving your finishing position. Week 3 and 4 is a 14 continuous day period of VO2 training. To benefit from this plan the most, you should be able to do this 14 day section without skipping any days. (the longest weekday workout is only 70 minutes, others are 60 minutes), so very doable even with a tight schedule.
