Before you buy another time trial plan, it is worth understanding what your recent training actually shows.
This product is not a standard training plan.
It is a structured review of your recent TrainingPeaks data, goals, time trial demands, and training history, followed by practical next-step guidance from Robert Ferguson at Watts Ahead...
The aim is simple: to help you understand what has been working, what may be limiting performance, and what the most sensible next step should be.
This review is best suited to time trial riders who already have training history in TrainingPeaks and want a clear, honest coaching view before committing to another plan, a custom training block, or full coaching.
It may suit riders focused on 10-mile, 25-mile, 50-mile, 100-mile, or longer time trials, especially where pacing, sustainable power, position tolerance, fatigue resistance, gearing, fuelling, or event preparation are key concerns.
It is especially useful if recent performances have raised questions. If you faded late, overpaced early, struggled to hold position, could not sustain target power, lost power after repeated hard efforts, or finished a race unsure why the result did not match your training numbers, this review can help identify whether your preparation matched the real demands of your target event.
The review includes:
Review of recent TrainingPeaks data
Review of your stated goals, target TT distance, event history, and training background
Identification of broad strengths, limiters, and patterns against your goals
Assessment of sustained power development and power drop-off under fatigue
Review of pacing demands and whether your training supports race-day execution
Consideration of position tolerance where relevant
Consideration of cadence, gearing, fuelling, and event-distance suitability where relevant
Practical next-step recommendations
One focused 30-minute Zoom review call
A written email summary of the main findings and recommendations
Advice on whether a self-guided plan, custom block, or full coaching is likely to be the best next step
This product works best when there is enough data to review. A minimum of 12 weeks of recent TrainingPeaks data is recommended. A fuller review is strongest when 6–12 months of training history is available.
TrainingPeaks data access is required.
The quality of the review depends on the quality and quantity of information available. If there is limited training history, missing data, no power data, no information about TT position, or very little athlete feedback, the review will necessarily be more general.
This is a review and guidance product. It does not include ongoing coaching, custom weekly programming, unlimited messaging, workout adjustments, race-week support, detailed aerodynamic testing, bike fit, nutrition planning, strength programming, or rewriting another coach’s training plan.
After purchase, please email robert@wattsahead.co.uk within 72 hours with your completed questionnaire and arrange TrainingPeaks access. Turnaround begins once I have received your questionnaire and access to the required data.
If further support is appropriate, I will direct you to the most suitable Watts Ahead option after the review.
No guesswork. No generic advice pretending to be coaching. Just a clear, practical review of what your training shows, what your target time trial demands, and what should probably happen next.
