Hermosillo to Bahía de Kino is a 120-kilometer lesson in speed, wind, and heat
L'Étape Hermosillo by Tour de France is scheduled for October 18, 2026 on a timed 120-kilometer route from Parque Madero in Hermosillo to the Bahía de Kino pier. Official and municipal sources describe a mainly flat, fast course through exposed Sonoran terrain. A verified elevation total is not published, so this plan trains durable road speed, wind management, heat readiness, and repeatable surges without inventing climbing that the organizer has not supplied.
For the rider with only six weeks left and five to nine hours a week, this rescue plan sharpens durable road speed, wind-aware pacing, positioning, heat and hydration readiness, and late-race efficiency around the fitness already in place without pretending to replace a full build.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
