Plan Description
Two hundred Dartmoor miles turn a 19-hour cutoff into the day's defining climb
Multiple loops across Dartmoor from a start/finish at Exeter Racecourse, with a principal feed station at Postbridge passed three times over the roughly 200-mile / 323 km route. The course has moved to this Exeter-based configuration from an earlier planned layout; the organizer describes an especially difficult final climb without naming it in current material. The 19-hour time limit itself — 05:00 to midnight, averaging roughly 10.5 mph including every stop, with intermediate cutoffs that can retire riders who fall behind.
For the rider aiming to complete Dartmoor Legend Ultra Sportive strongly on seven to eleven hours a week, this twelve-week plan builds ultra-distance durability, conservative pacing, fueling systems, and cutoff-aware execution for 323 kilometers, roughly 5,500 meters of climbing, and the 19-hour cutoff.
INSIDE THE FINISHER PLAN — 7–11 HR/WK
Includes zone-tailored structured rides for your devices, built-in strength with video walkthroughs, heat protocols for when your race calls for them, peloton skills workouts, and nutrition and hydration guidance.
The Complete Dartmoor Legend Ultra Sportive Guide — the training, the tactics, the gear and race day, explained simply and clearly: what to do, when to do it, and why it works.
