Coastal speed gives way to short inland climbs when the legs are settled
Starts and finishes at Falkensteiner Club Funimation Borik in Zadar, running along Adriatic coastal roads out to the Vir bridge/island and inland into Zadar County's pastures and meadows. The Classic (112 km) route mixes longer flat coastal stretches with short, attractive inland climbs; the Small (56 km) route offers a shorter version of the same character. The inland climbing sections on the Classic route's Zadar County loop, following the coastal run out to Vir — short but attractive rather than one dominant summit.
For the rider with only six weeks left and five to nine hours a week, this rescue plan sharpens durable mixed-terrain power, disciplined pacing, fueling, and late-race decision-making around the fitness already in place without pretending to replace a full build.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
