1,100 kilometres, 7,500 metres, and no stage break between the Baltic and the Alps
Race Across Germany North–South runs from Thursday, July 8 through Sunday, July 11, 2027. The organizer's fixed route covers 1,100 kilometers with 7,500 meters of climbing from Flensburg to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with staggered starts, Supported and Nonsupported categories, official time stations, and category-specific classification cutoffs across a non-stop ultra-distance race.
For the rider with a full calendar and four to six hours a week, this twelve-week Distance plan directs limited time toward aerobic efficiency, muscular endurance, disciplined fueling, and one purposeful weekly longer ride while being honest about the gap between training hours and a 1,100-kilometer race.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
