Qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup? This 6 - week training plan is designed to help you arrive at the start line feeling fit, confident, and ready to perform.
Created by Tasman Nankervis, winner of the 2023 SEVEN UCI Gravel World Series and holder of a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, in collaboration with Kobe Henderson, Exercise Scientist, this program combines evidence-based training principles with first-hand gravel racing experience.
Designed for riders who already have a solid endurance base, this plan provides the structure and guidance needed to maximise your race-day performance. Training volume ranges from 6–9 hours per week, making it ideal for athletes who are consistently riding but want a targeted approach leading into the World Championships.
Over six weeks, you'll complete a structured mix of interval sessions, endurance rides, and cycling-specific strength training to prepare for the unique demands of the Nannup course. The plan focuses on improving threshold power, repeatability, endurance, and race-specific fitness, with 2 – 3 key interval sessions each week alongside endurance riding. A dedicated recovery week and race-specific taper ensure you arrive fresh and ready to perform on race day.
Whether your goal is competing for a podium, achieving a personal best, or simply riding your strongest race, this plan provides a clear, structured pathway to help you perform at your best on the biggest stage in gravel racing.
