South America's UCI qualifier
UCI Gran Fondo Brasil's 108 km Gran Fondo route runs through Santa Catarina's rolling hills on paved roads, starting and finishing at Parque Henry Paul in Timbó with mass-start groups and chip timing. The terrain varies steadily rather than presenting one defining feature — repeated rolling elevation change over the published course, not sustained flat riding.
For the rider pursuing UCI World Series qualifying position on nine to thirteen hours a week, this twelve-week plan develops the repeated climbing power the course's rolling hills demand and the ability to hold mass-start pace for the full 108 km.

Hey, I'm Matti. I spent 11 years at TrainingPeaks, where they trusted me to teach coaches how to coach at TrainingPeaks University. I raced Amateur Elite with Rio Grande Cycling Team and podiumed my age group at Unbound 200 in 2026. I have a degree in biology and exercise physiology from St. Olaf. I'm also a middle-aged dad of three, so I know training doesn't happen in a vacuum. I help gravel riders get stupidly fast without becoming the person who brings a food scale to a party
