Delta Tau Delta Cycling — 12-Week Summer Training Plan
This plan is built specifically for the Delta Tau Delta collegiate cycling team. It is designed for well-trained cyclists coming off a spring racing season who are targeting criteriums and road races over the summer, with a structured build toward peak fitness in late summer events.
What to expect:
13 weeks of structured training organized into three phases: a 4-week pre-race build, an 8-week race block with two intensity peaks, and a recovery week between blocks. Every session is a structured workout that uploads directly to your Garmin, Wahoo, or Zwift. Wednesday group rides (Worlds) are built into the plan every week — these are non-negotiable. On weekends without races, a 10-mile all-out TT substitutes as the key effort. Log your time and average power after every TT so the team can track progress together.
Equipment needed:
Power meter (required), GPS cycling computer or smart trainer, heart rate monitor (recommended).
