Plan Description

A focused, power-based 6-week training block for riders who want more than a generic plan, but do not need full monthly coaching.

Designed by Robert Ferguson, UCI Level 3 Diploma Coach, British Cycling Level 3 Coach, and UCI/UNIL CAS Coach, this block is built around practical, power-based coaching: clear structure, honest feedback, and training that fits the rider in front of me.

You are not just buying workouts. You are buying a focused block of coach judgement, shaped around your goal, recent training data, available time, power profile, and response to training.
Best purchased around 8 weeks before your target event, allowing time for onboarding, review, planning, 6 weeks of training, and a little breathing room.

Important after purchase
After purchase, please email me at robert@wattsahead.co.uk so I can send your onboarding questionnaire and explain how to connect your TrainingPeaks account to Watts Ahead. This block is built manually after onboarding, data review, and the Performance Planning Call, so it will not appear instantly as a completed custom plan.

Who this is for
Suitable for road riders, club riders, masters riders, competitive cyclists, and indoor or outdoor riders who train with power and want a focused short-term intervention.
It works well if you are preparing for a road event, club race, fast group ride, training camp, cycling holiday, or specific performance goal. It is also a good fit if you feel stuck, need better structure, or want a planned block based on your actual data rather than a generic template.
A power meter or smart trainer is required. This is not an HR/RPE-only product.
The sample workouts shown are examples only. Your purchased block will be tailored after your questionnaire, data review, and Performance Planning Call. Workouts may use proven coaching structures, but the final block is shaped around your goal, data, availability and training response.

What is included
Before the block starts, you will complete an onboarding questionnaire and provide recent training data where available. I will review your training, power profile, goal, available time, and key constraints before building the block.

Included:
• Custom 6-week TrainingPeaks training block
• Recent TrainingPeaks / power data review
• WKO-informed review where useful
• TrainingPeaks Premium included during the block if required
• Up to 60 minutes Performance Planning Call time, delivered as either 1 x 60 minutes or 2 x 30 minutes
• Weekly coach-led review and adjustments where needed
• Reasonable plan-related message support
• Replies normally within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, usually UK / European working hours
• Brief end-of-block summary message

What this is not
I want you to feel looked after and supported, but this is a fixed 6-week training block, not 1:1 coaching on demand.

This does not include daily file analysis, unlimited messaging, emergency race-day support, ongoing plan rewriting, nutrition or weight-loss coaching, medical or injury-management advice, full coach-athlete management, or extra calls beyond the included 60 minutes.
Calls can be used as 1 x 60 minutes or 2 x 30 minutes. They cannot be split into smaller segments.

This product may not be the right fit if you are a complete beginner, currently injured, returning from significant illness, do not train with power, or need daily accountability.

One purchase per year
This product is limited to one purchase per customer per calendar year. If you need repeated blocks, regular feedback, ongoing adaptation, or a full coach-athlete relationship, monthly coaching is likely to be the better fit.

Upgrade option
If you move into monthly Watts Ahead coaching within 14 days of completing the block, you will receive 25% off your first month. This applies only to direct Watts Ahead coaching and cannot be used through TrainingPeaks, Coach Match, or any other third-party platform. Standard monthly pricing applies from month two.
