Plan Description

This 8-week plan is designed specifically for the demands of criterium racing. It follows a simple, progressive structure:

3 weeks building aerobic power and fatigue resistance through sweetspot, tempo, and controlled endurance work

1 adaptation week to consolidate gains and refine cadence and efficiency

3 weeks of race-specific intensity, focusing on VO2 max and anaerobic capacity for repeated surges

1 taper week to reduce volume while maintaining sharpness ahead of your target race

The plan blends structured intervals with supportive endurance volume to improve durability, repeatability, and overall race performance. Each phase builds on the previous one, ensuring you arrive at race week fit, fresh, and ready to perform.
