Plan Description
Nick Owen is a renowned Australian cycling coach and sports scientist based in Melbourne, with over 15 years of experience in high-performance sport. He founded NOC Sports Science in 2020 to deliver elite-level coaching exclusively for serious cyclists, including U17-19, masters, and professional athletes, emphasizing data-driven physiological testing and personalized training programs. Owen's career highlights include serving as Lead Sport Scientist for cycling, swimming, and athletics at the Victorian Institute of Sport, and as a coach and physiologist for the Australian Cycling Team and National Para-Cycling Team. He has guided over 40 medalists to success at National, World, Commonwealth Games, and Paralympic levels, including World Tour pros like Luke Plapp, Ruby Roseman-Gannon, 10-time ParaCycling World Champion Alistair Donohoe, and riders such as Georgie Howe, Jensen Plowright, Keeley Bennett, Alyssa Polites and Talia Appleton.
This in-depth program is designed for the final 8 weeks leading in to the Tour of Bright. It is expected that athletes undertaking this program already have a suitable amount of base fitness. It is designed for athlete's training 12-14h/ week but can easily be adjusted to allow for more or less duration.
