Plan Description
This 8-week plan is built to boost your VO2max through structured intensity, consistent progression, and well-timed recovery. You’ll start by setting your baseline, then move into short, punchy intervals, longer sustained efforts, and sprint finishes - all designed to push your aerobic ceiling.
The high-intensity work is balanced with plenty of endurance rides and recovery days to keep you fresh and progressing. Every few weeks, a recovery week helps you absorb the load and reset before building again.
This plan is designed for experienced athletes who understand the importance of recovery, quality sleep, and proper nutrition. Training volume stays under 10 hours per week, with varied and progressively structured sessions that make the most of your available time.
A higher VO2max means your body can deliver and use more oxygen - which translates into better endurance, higher performance across disciplines, and more headroom to handle hard efforts, whether in training, racing, or everyday challenges.
By the end of the plan, you’ll have stacked consistent VO2max work, maintained your aerobic base, and sharpened your ability to perform under fatigue.
