Plan Description

The 16 week plan is devised to help riders train for Chase The Sun long distance cycle event on Saturday 21st June 2025.

As Official Training partner for Chase The Sun we have crafted this 16 week plan based on feedback from multiple riders who have completed Chase the Sun 200mile events. By setting your heart rate and power zones the plan will adapt and be tailored to your individuall heart rate and power thresholds.

Following the plan will guide your training so that you can complete the 200+ miles to the best of your ability.
It uses a combination of heart rate and power based structured workouts and works best with a combination of indoor and outdoor training sessions.

The main focus is to improve aerobic capacity to enable riding for a number of hours and succesfully complete a challenging event.

Each week has a specific focus with notes and tips on preparation, mental resilience as well as regular sessions to create event specific scenarios to test nutrition and pacing startegies.

This year there are a series of structured yoga routines with step by step videos to help aid strength/mobility and recovery.
