Welcome to your 100km/60-mile cycling training program!

Before we kick off, please note that this is a power-based program, so it’s essential that you have a power meter fitted to your bike or an indoor trainer that can measure power. Monitoring your power output will be crucial in ensuring that you're training at the correct intensities and progressing effectively.

This 12-week program is available in three different training loads: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Choose the training load that best matches your current fitness level and cycling experience. If you’re aligning this program with a specific event, we recommend leaving one week after finishing the program to fully recover before your event.

This plan is designed to prepare you for a challenging and rewarding ride, whether you're tackling your first 60-mile event or aiming for a personal best. The training is divided into two main phases: the first 8 weeks will focus on building a solid endurance base, while the final 4 weeks will emphasize enhancing your threshold capacity, helping you ride faster and more efficiently over long distances.

The first phase is all about laying the foundation for endurance, increasing your aerobic capacity, and gradually preparing your body for the demands of sustained effort over many miles. During these 8 weeks, you’ll gradually build up your weekly mileage and learn how to pace yourself, ensuring that you can comfortably ride the full distance without burning out.

The second phase will focus on improving your threshold capacity, which is the ability to ride at a higher intensity for longer periods of time. This phase will involve more structured interval training to improve your power and stamina, pushing your limits so you can perform at a faster pace during the event.
