Plan Description

This plan does not have a start or end date. Start/End the 15 weeks whenever you want. You can also do some of the weeks more than once if you think you need it.
This plan does not include any tapering. If you need tapering. Look for my other plans that ends on the event or ask me for an advice or an add on plan.

Mallorca 312 is a fantastic Gran Fondo. To be able to ride on closed roads in the Tramuntana mountains is truly an experience for life.

But it’s also really tough!

This training plan is created with only one thing in mind. To make you as well prepared as possible!

The author of the plan is Andreas Lindén (me), an experienced professional cycling and triathlon coach, based in Mallorca.

As Mallorca 312 requires a lot of endurance and efficiency I’ve included some of the best training methods from the triathlon world into the schedule.

You’ll find interval sessions to improve your Vo2-max and your FTP. But also sessions that will improve your climbing speed and climbing endurance.

To make you even more prepared I’ve added specific sessions to improve your ability to use fat as an energy source, even further up in the intensity range. This is a key for Mallorca 312.

On the first day of every week I’ll go through what the objectives for the week are.

I also use a ranking system where every session has a specific rank between 1-5. This will help you to prioritize your training weeks.

What’s a key session or not is not black or white. My ranking system is simple but very practical.

In every session you’ll recieve the following information:

Objective - what we want to improve during the session

Nutrition - My advice on your energy intake during the session

Pro tip - Tips for how you can train smarter and more effective

Ranking - To help you prioritize the importance sessions should you need to remove some certain weeks

Almost every workout is a structured workout so that you can do it in Trainerroad, Zwift or open it in your Garmin Edge or similar.

The strength sessions are comprehensive and detailed. For every different phase of the strength you’ll have specific exercises and video instructions for each one of them.

This plan INCLUDES EMAIL CONTACT. If you need any help. Feel free to contact me. I won’t help you with the daily rescheduling. But I'll help you with everything else regarding the training and your schedule.

You can also add video calls (for an additional cost) to get more help or more feedback on the way.

I’ll do the event myself but I’m planning to only do the 167 this year. Last year I started together with a group of my coaching clients and decided to complete the full 312.
