Plan Description
This is our RPE or 'Feeling' based training plan for offroad cycling - it is appropriate for gravel, cyclocross or mountain bike. It is for those who do not want to use heart rate or power AND for those who want to collect other data but use feeling to guide their training. This plan is also simpler so it is great for those who prefer to avoid more technical or complicated systems.
The Consummate Athlete philosophy involves being healthy and prepared, as well as developing specific fitness for the event. In line with this the plan provides reminders and suggestions to prepare for stage racing (gear, nutrition, travel etc.) AND encourages you to strength train and walk in addition to your bike training.
Is This Plan For You?
This plan has been used by beginners, intermediates and advanced riders. The distance covered, difficulty of the terrain, and choices you make about duration will changed depending on your experience and goals.
This is not a complicated plan but it is an effective plan - simple is not easy! This plan will require you to think, be adaptable, and plan your training environment to elicit great results.
