Feel confident and ready for your first races by preparing with this specific training plan that will get you "race ready" for road races, circuit races, and criteriums. This plan is ideal for those who want to prepare for a race 6 weeks away in the Cat 5, Beginner or Masters categories.
Training plan description: This training plan averages mostly 6-7 hours per week for around 400-550 TSS per week. The specific intervals prescribed are designed to improve your sprint, V02 power, leg speed, and Anaerobic Power. These are all critical areas for race fitness and performance. Weekends include the option for group rides or training races. During the work week the sessions are designed to be done on the road or indoor trainer. The plan ends on week 6 with the first races scheduled on the weekend.
Prior to this plan you should have a good level of fitness and have been training consistently for 8-12 weeks for a minimum of 4-6 hours/week. The plan is in the Workout Builder format which provides personalized power targets for each training session and intervals, calculated automatically from your Threshold number saved in your TrainingPeaks account.
