Plan Description
10-Week Advanced XC Plan: VO2, Anaerobic, and Neuromuscular Work for XC Racing
For XC mountain bikers targeting race performance who have a solid aerobic base and want to build the physiological profile that trail racing demands: strong VO2 ceiling, repeatable anaerobic capacity, and neuromuscular power for punchy climbs. Four sessions per week in two training blocks separated by a recovery week. The first block progresses through threshold, VO2, and anaerobic work. The second block builds VO2 and anaerobic volume further before adding short neuromuscular sessions in week 9. Long rides stay at 2 hours to preserve freshness for the quality work. A power meter is required for the quality sessions.
