Plan Description

This Competition Phase plan prepares high performance EDR riders for peak performance in races or timed events.

Training focuses on maintaining anaerobic power, refining technical execution, and maximizing efficiency under fatigue. Riders complete race simulations, timed segments, and start practice sessions to sharpen focus and execution.

Attention is given to tire setup, suspension tuning, and line choice strategies for different terrain. Alternatives such as shuttled or hike-a-bike runs are built in where lift access is unavailable.

Cardiovascular fitness is improved through either ongoing training sessions, or weekend competitions. Athletes are encouraged to modify the program based on their needs. When racing, race! When there is not a competition, stick with the plan as written.

While not included in online plans, Comprehensive Training Plans also include mental preparation including visualization, composure under pressure, and race-day routines to ensure confidence and precision.
