Plan Description
During these 12 weeks of training, we’re going to build your form and fitness with the goal of arriving in top shape for the Colin Mayer Tour in October.
From my experience, Stage 1 is the most demanding physically, and mechanically. The combination of tough climbs, rocky terrain, and technical descents often results in cramps and punctures for many riders. The remaining two stages are still challenging but shorter and more manageable.
Throughout the plan, we’ll focus on VO2 max and threshold workouts to build your engine and race readiness. I also encourage you to take your MTB out for regular skills sessions, practice descending, cornering, line choice, and handling under fatigue. These will make a big difference on race day.
