This plan is designed for a rider who is looking to complete the Park City Point 2 Point. You know you have the grit and determination to finish this race and you want to give yourself an edge with some race specific prep to get you to the finish.
Note, there are two versions of this plan. This plan is power-based. The workouts include power-based workout programming for all structured rides. It includes an FTP test on Day 1 and instructions for how to determine and update your FTP in TrainingPeaks. You will complete several FTP tests through the plan to ensure that the workout targets are appropriate through the duration of the plan. If you have a power meter, purchase this power-based version.
If you do not have a power meter, purchase the Park City Point 2 Point Race Plan - Finisher Level - RPE-based. RPE is Rate of Perceived Effort. The RPE plan does not require the use of a power meter. The workouts are based on your RPE and the plan includes a detailed explanation of how to assess and utilize the RPE scale 1-10.
This program is designed around a Monday rest day. If that works for your schedule, start Day 1 on a Monday. If you would like a Sunday rest day, start the plan on a Sunday. This plan includes three or four days of training per week. If you would like additional days of training, add an easy recovery spin on one of the scheduled days off.
This plan is semi-customized by including a 30 minute initial phone call with Coach Sarah to customize for your personal fitness, schedule, set-up, goals, and situation. It also includes the option for a monthly call to further customize. To set up your call, paste this link into your browser: https://calendly.com/kcyclingcoaching/30min.
All KCC training plans come with a comprehensive document of best practices and guidelines. You will find this doc attached in your first day of training.
As a coach, it’s my job to make you fast. But it’s my mission to make you the very best athlete you can be. I provide the structure – the analytics, the feedback, the roadmap. And we dig in together to see what unique path is right for you, based on your physiological tendencies, your training data, your sensations, and your goals.
We work in a partnership. And this partnership allows athlete and coach to be greater than the sum of our parts. What matters is that we connect.
