Plan Description
This 8 week plan is designed for intermediate level cyclists with access to a power meter looking to take on an XC (MTB) race and want to build on a range of skills and prepare the body for the demands of an XC event. If you are just returning from off season we recommend completing one of our 4-8 week base plans first.
When should this plan plan be done?
This is a pre season plan aimed to take you from a winter foundation phase to race ready and fit.
What you can expect
This 8 week plan will be focusing on the aerobic development with particular attention to your lactate buffering abilities at or above FTP, a fundamental element within XC racing. We will also focus on the skills that are crucial for a season of racing. From technical A line practice to race starts. The later parts of this plan will focus on the top end fitness needed to get prepare for the first race of the season.
