This plan is a flexible plan that incorporates skills, intensity, and volume appropriate for under 18 athletes looking to follow a plan for their off-season base (General Preparation)
The athlete should add team sports, school sports and lots of active play on top of this structure, and in some cases in place of the structure. Guidance for these substitutions (called 'OR' workouts) is given in the plan.
The plan is Heart Rate and RPE(Feeling) based, the latter concept is very important for juniors to learn and develop to carry them through their career on their own individual progression and to guide their racing performance.
Power is mentioned in a couple of 'structured' workouts per week but should be very flexible and not the focus. Downloads are included for most bike workouts ( for Garmin / Zwift Etc ). Endurance workouts may not have download to keep thing simple and provide freedom from focus and devices! - you do not need to use downloads as the title and description of each workout should allow for completion of the key elements of the workout.
Included are weekly/monthly notes to help guide athletes towards the preparation required to succeed.
Core is a 10 min routine with a lot of flexibility based on what you need (examples/downloads included)
