8-WEEK HILL CLIMBING TRAINING PLAN
Climb faster and drop the gradient. This 8-week hill climbing plan builds the sustained power, low-cadence strength and pacing you need to ride up faster — whether it's a local KOM, an alpine pass or a Zwift mountain.
WHO IT'S FOR
Cyclists who want to become stronger climbers: road racers, gran fondo and sportive riders, and anyone who loses time when the road tips up. Fully indoor- and Zwift-compatible; every session is built around your FTP, so it works on any smart trainer.
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN
More sustainable power on long climbs, the leg strength to grind low-cadence ramps, and the ability to surge over steep pitches and recover while still climbing. You learn to pace a climb so you reach the top fast, not blown.
HOW IT WORKS
Five rides a week across roughly 6 to 8 hours, with two rest days. Threshold and sustained-climbing intervals, low-cadence strength work and over-gradient surges build through the block, supported by endurance and recovery rides. A recovery week and a final test track your progress.
WHAT YOU NEED
A smart trainer or power meter and a set FTP. Every workout is fully structured and downloads straight to your head unit or Zwift.
Each session includes coach's notes explaining what it does, how it should feel and how to pace it. Built by Evolve Coaching. Train smarter. Climb faster.
